Alexis Hornbuckle - Women’s Basketball
Alexis Hornbuckle is a two-time NCAA Champion under the leadership of the legendary Pat Summitt, and a two-time WNBA Champion for the Detroit Shock and the Minnesota Lynx. Hornbuckle also won four division 3A high school championships in West Virginia where her father Jerome Hornbuckle coached her all four years. She graduated from the University of Tennessee where she received her B.A. in sociology in 2008. While on the court Hornbuckle played a combo guard position for the Lady Vols Basketball team where she also broke the All-Time Steals record which she still holds today. Immediately following her second championship, she was drafted #4 overall in the 2008 WNBA draft to the Detroit Shock. Alexis would play in the WNBA for six short years on a total of 4 teams, one of which was the Minnesota Lynx when she helped the franchise win their first championship in 2011. She also played 11 years internationally in countries such as Turkey, Israel, Dubai, Poland, Jordan, Puerto Rico, Finland, and more.
Alexis Hornbuckle is also a certified personal trainer, podcast host, mentor, social activist, and entrepreneur. She is founder of Alexis Hornbuckle Basketball: a player development platform where players get taught the fundamentals of life and basketball, as well as group and individual prep for college and the pros. She is a franchisee of Youth Hoops Basketball Camps: a year round basketball camp that hits everything on offense and defense for ages 6-14 years old. She hosts and co-hosts several different podcasts such as: The Collective Unfiltered, VFL in the lane, Uplifting Voices Everywhere, The 14 &41 Unity Show on WYTV7 and BUCK’D UP (coming soon). Alexis has dedicated her life to playing basketball, as a recently retired professional athlete her focus has shifted to coaching and teaching young women on how to use basketball as a vehicle to a free education. When she is not on the court, in the weight room, on the track, or on the field training young athletes, you will find her on her various podcast platforms trying to help educate and change the world.

Darcy Ridge - Varsity Cross Country
Darcy Ridge - Varsity Cross Country
Darcy has been a runner since the age of 12, when she decided to run track in 7th grade. It was "love at first mile"...
Darcy ran track at JM Alexander Middle School where she competed in the mile and 800- meter race. She attended North Mecklenburg High School and ran cross country and track all four years, where she earned several conference, regional, and state rankings and titles. She also participated in intramural running leagues throughout her four years at UNC-Chapel Hill and coached "Girls on the Run."
After teaching elementary and middle school Art for several years in the Lake Norman area, she now spends her time as a YMCA Cycle Instructor and Independent Rodan and Fields' consultant. Darcy has two sons' at Woodlawn. Evan is a 4th grader and Jackson a 6th grader. When she's not running, cycling, or doing yoga she loves to travel and camp with her family.

Kyle Dill - Assistant Volleyball Coach, Head MS Basketball Coach, Head MS Flag Football Coach, Assistant Track & Field Coach
Kyle grew up in Piscataway, NJ and graduated from Davidson College with a history degree. He was a multi-sport athlete most of his life. Kyle’s area of expertise is in Football, Track & Field, Soccer, and Basketball. Kyle played football at Rutgers and Davidson. He was also the head football coach at Brawley Middle and the sprinters coach at Lake Norman High School. Kyle is now a multi-sport coach here at Woodlawn School and is excited about the growth of Woodlawn’s athletic programs. Coach Dill currently lives in Huntersville with his wife and 2 dogs.

Martin Obando - Varsity and MS Boys and Girls Soccer Coach
Martin Obando - Varsity and MS Boys and Girls Soccer Coach
Martin Obando is a coach with 25 years’ experience, ranging from munchkins to high school to semi-pro teams. He built up the Key Biscayne Soccer Classic and the Haiti Cup while working with Fabre Soccer Promotions in Miami, and played for Superga FC, Cafeteros FC, Honduras Cinco Estrellas, and received a full scholarship to St Thomas University. After college, Mr. Obando’s love of soccer led him into additional coaching and several posts as an Athletic Director in South Florida, Maryland, and Nicaragua. Since relocating to North Carolina with his family in 2015, he has coached teams at Woodlawn (2015), Lincoln Charter (2016-2017), Community School of Davidson (2018), and returned to coach his son on Woodlawn’s Middle School team in 2019.

Stephanie Amadio - MS Cross Country Coach
Stephanie Amadio - MS Cross Country Coach
As an avid runner for 25+ years Stephanie was in awe of the foundation Dwayne and Karen Bowman laid for Woodlawn's highly successful cross country program when her daughter Amelia (2025) joined the team as a 5th grader. That following year, she assisted Karen with the middle school team and has been hooked ever since.
Stephanie played competitive basketball growing up and fully appreciates the life lessons athletics can teach kids and adults alike. Her approach with coaching the student-athlete at Woodlawn is to improve their mind, body and competitive spirit by teaching running fundamentals, teamwork, sportsmanship and perseverance
Graduating from the University of Tennessee as a Mechanical Engineer, her career has evolved into finance management and she is currently the Director of Finance with a local Davidson business. Stephanie's free-time is spent enjoying her family, running and being outdoors.

Hahna Hayden - MS and Varsity Volleyball Coach
Coach Hahna is from Bluffton, SC. She began playing volleyball in 7th grade and continued to play school and travel volleyball every year until college. At Converse College, she was on the school's volleyball team her freshmen and junior years, able to enjoy the NCAA Division II athletic experience alongside her studies. Coach Hahna enjoys coaching all ages and experience levels and has done so over the past ten years. Coach Hayden lives in Mooresville with her husband, children, and animals.
