Endowment
A “permanent” fund in which the principal is invested and the earnings are spent. A strong endowment ensures our long-term strength and stability because the funds help to support dynamic programming, a diverse community of learners, and the operating costs that come with innovative facilities. Endowment relieves pressure on tuition and annual giving which ensures long-term affordability and innovation.
Capital
Capital gifts, generally to the physical plant or programs, differ from annual support, which provides funding for the operating budget and thus is expended each year. Instead, capital gifts allow the School the opportunity to build, renovate and restore facilities and grow programs.
